When to use the lifting support

The sling may help you lift and steady a dog affected by paralysis, hind-leg weakness, arthritis, hip dysplasia, age-related loss of mobility, or recovery after surgery.

Help with standing up

Support under the belly helps you assist your dog more steadily when rising from a lying or seated position.

Walking and balance support

It helps you support some of your dog’s weight during daily walks and short bathroom breaks.

Help on stairs

It helps you guide a dog with weak hind legs more steadily when going up or down stairs.

Adjustable lifting handles

The handle length and lifting angle can be adjusted to suit your height and your dog’s needs.

Soft underside support

The padded neoprene surface helps distribute pressure more evenly across the belly during lifting.

Lightweight, durable construction

Neoprene and reinforced nylon provide a water-resistant, hand-washable construction suited to daily use.

The support does not replace a veterinary examination or treatment. A veterinarian should advise whether it is suitable, how much weight to support, and how long to use it.

How to use the sling

Make sure you have the right size before use. Lift slowly and steadily; do not suddenly transfer your dog’s full weight to the handles.

  1. Positioning the support under the dog’s belly

    Step 1

Place the supportive section of the sling beneath your dog’s belly.

  2. Raising both lifting straps evenly

    Step 2

    Raise both lifting straps evenly.

  3. Fastening the lifting handle

    Step 3

Join and secure the handle with its hook-and-loop fastening.

  4. Adjusting the lifting strap height

    Step 4

Adjust the strap height so your dog can stand steadily and you can provide support comfortably.

Support your dog’s weight evenly, and do not drag the sling across the belly. Stop using it if you notice a change in breathing, pain, slipping, or marked discomfort.

Use and care

Getting your dog used to the sling

Introduce the sling in a calm setting. During the first use, check the position under the belly and whether the handles are balanced. Use it only while physically assisting your dog, and remove it when the assistance is finished. Follow your veterinarian’s advice on the type and duration of activity.

After each use

  • Remove the sling and check the skin for redness, irritation, moisture, or rubbing.
  • Let the skin breathe before using the sling again.
  • Remove the sling once assistance is finished; do not leave it on your dog during rest or sleep.

  • Stop using it if you notice rubbing, swelling, or changes in gait or posture.
  • Follow your veterinarian’s advice on duration and frequency of use.

Cleaning and storage

  • Remove detachable parts before cleaning.
  • Hand wash only with lukewarm water and mild soap.
  • Allow it to air dry completely before using it again.
  • Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
  • Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from other heat sources.
  • Store it flat in a cool, dry place to help retain its shape.

Frequently asked questions

How does a lifting support differ from an assisted walking harness?

The sling helps you support some of your dog’s weight. An assisted walking harness provides compression around the hips and aims to support the dog’s own movement.

How does it differ from a drag bag?

The sling helps you physically assist your dog when standing up or moving. A drag bag protects the body and hind legs from friction while the animal moves along the ground.

Can I lift my dog completely off the ground with the sling?

This product is designed to help you support part of your dog’s weight. If your dog needs to be lifted completely off the ground, do not assume this sling alone is sufficient. Ask your veterinarian about an appropriate lifting method and equipment.

How do I choose the right size for a large dog?

Choose the size based on belly and body measurements rather than weight alone. Also consider whether the person assisting the dog can safely support part of its weight.

Is the sling enough if the front legs are weak too?

Not always. The product mainly supports the rear of the body. If the front legs are also seriously weak, a more comprehensive lifting system or a second person may be needed.

Can one person assist a large dog with the sling?

It depends on the dog’s weight, remaining mobility, and the person’s physical strength. Ask a second person to help if there is a risk of losing control.
